Aviation industry records $220 billion net loss due to pandemic

A report by U.K.-based aviation data and analytics company Cirium showed that the global airline industry has recorded net losses of almost $220 billion since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Simple Flying reported. Although operations have resumed, the airline industry has yet to reach pre-pandemic levels in terms of revenue. It continued to face challenges this year, as it encountered more frequent and widespread strike actions and operational disruptions.
