Despite revenue gains, Highmark Health posts net loss

Highmark Health posted a $268 million net loss through the first nine months of 2022 as multiple headwinds dragged on the health insurer’s finances, reports Fierce Healthcare. Pittsburgh-based Highmark reported $19.5 billion in revenue, up 22% year-over-year, and $594 million in operating income. Highmark also reported $670 million in unrealized investment losses driven by a decline in its equity investments portfolio.
