New Jersey regulators propose abortion coverage mandate for insurers

New Jersey could soon become the eighth state to mandate state-regulated private health insurance plans cover abortions, as part of a proposal recommended by state officials last month, reports Philly Voice. The recommendation was made by the Department of Banking and Insurance as part of a study it conducted in January when Gov. Phil Murphy codified abortion rights into New Jersey's state law.
