Strict COVID lockdowns drag down manufacturing activity

China’s manufacturing and services activities dropped to a seven-month low in November, mainly due to the strict COVID-19 lockdowns in the country, Reuters reported. Prolonged lockdowns are now affecting a quarter of China’s gross domestic product, with the impacts are expected to hurt the country’s economy well into 2023.
