Cyber war exclusions closely watched by insureds as risk of cyberattacks soars

Jean Bayon de La Tour, head of cyber for Marsh and McLennan Cos Inc. in continental Europe, said that insurance buyers are growing more concerned about new cyberwar exclusions, as risk of state-sponsored cyber attacks surges, Commercial Risk reported. While many insurers are opting to trigger the war exclusion clauses to avoid payouts, there are several “ambiguous terms” which may support the insureds.
