ConnectiCare to exit Connecticut small group insurance market

Farmington, Connecticut-based ConnectiCare Inc. emailed a letter to brokers Nov. 28, notifying them the company “has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the Connecticut fully insured, small group market,” reports the Hartford Business Journal. The withdrawal, which will impact more than 20,000 people currently covered by ConnectiCare’s small group fully insured plans, comes only months after Harvard Pilgrim Health Care announced that it was exiting the state’s commercial insurance market, including small group plans.
