Ireland's Data Protection Commission has fined Facebook’s parent company Meta Platforms Inc. roughly $275 million for its failure to prevent hackers from stealing the personal information of more than 500 million Facebook users in 2019, CNN reported. This is the fourth fine imposed on Meta by the Irish data regulator this year, taking the total penalty amount to almost $1 billion.
