Reinsurers clears Hurricane Ian test: Goldman Sachs

Analysts at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. said that reinsurers have passed the test set by Hurricane Ian, thanks to higher rates making the storm only an earnings event for the industry, Artemis reported. Although Goldman Sachs expects a prolonged hard market, with inflation set to drive higher demand, it still wants reinsurers to demonstrate that they can absorb normalized loss activity and still deliver a profit on capital over the cycle.
