Flu activity at highest levels in more than a decade: CDC

Influenza activity is elevated across the country just as Americans prepare for Thanksgiving gatherings and travel, according to updated data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Axios reports. The flu hospitalization rate is at the highest for this time of year since the 2010-2011 season, according to the CDC. The CDC estimates that so far this season, there have been at least 4.4 million illnesses, 38,000 hospitalizations and 2,100 deaths from flu, according to the report.
