Drought damage quadruples and expected to rise further

The Association of Hungarian Insurers said drought-related crop insurance claims alone reached 40 billion Hungarian forint ($102 million) in the year through October, reflecting almost four-fold increase from the total crop insurance claims in the same period last year, Xprimm reported citing portfolio.hu. The crop insurance claims are expected to increase by another HUF1.2 billion by the end of the year.
