Hospital groups lobby Congress to shelve Medicare payment cuts

As Congress returns from a nearly monthlong recess, hospital groups are lobbying member to repeal a looming mandatory 4% cut to Medicare payments, Fierce Healthcare reports. In a letter to congressional leadership, groups led by the American Hospital Association and the Federation of American Hospitals, wrote that the cuts could prove disastrous for facilities fighting an increase in flu and respiratory cases.
