Generali’s premiums near $60 billion

Italian insurer Assicurazioni Generali SpA’s gross written premium increased to €59.8 billion ($59.7 billion) in the first nine months of the year, driven by growth in its property and casualty business, Reinsurance News reported. The insurer’s net profit dipped 0.8% year-on-year to around €2.2 billion ($2.24 billion), mainly from a €141 million hit related to Russian investments.
