Chile raises yellow alert for regions near Villarrica volcano

Chile raised a “yellow” alert for communities near the Villarrica volcano on Nov. 8 after an increase in the explosive activity by the volcano, Mercopress reported. The Chilean authorities – National Geology and Mining Service and National Office of Emergency of the Interior Ministry – have issued a yellow alert for the communities of Villarrica, Puccn, and Curarrehue in La Araucania region and for Panguipulli in Los Rios.
