South Korean internet services provider Kakao Corp. expects to suffer a one-off cost of around 40 billion South Korean won ($28 million) related to losses caused by a data center fire in October that took Kakao’s services offline, Data Center Dynamics reported. The fire at South Korean company SK C&C’s data center near Seoul on Oct. 15 knocked down servers of Kakao, disrupting nearly all KakaoTalk, Kakao Pay, and Kakao T online services.
