Damage from tropical storm in Philippines hits $34 million

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in the Philippines said that the estimated damage to agriculture and infrastructure from the recent Tropical Storm Paeng reached almost 2 billion Philippine pesos ($34.4 million), Rappler reported. The storm has killed over 100 people so far and affected over 2 million Filipinos, while it flooded nearly 200 cities and towns, caused power outages and forced the closure of three airports.
