Slowdown in automobile production weighs on industrial output

Data from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed that industrial production shrank 1.6% in September, driven by a slowdown in automobile production and heightened raw material costs, Yahoo reports. Industrial production will shrink 0.4% in October on continued weakness in automobile production and production is then expected to rise 0.8% in November.
