Missouri county expects $500,000 savings after PBM swap

Cole County, Missouri, officials expect to save approximately $500,000 next year on drug spending by switching pharmacy benefit managers to Smith Rx from Optum RX, reports The News Tribune. The county’s benefits advisor projected an almost 60% decrease in pharmacy spending under Smith Rx, amounting to some $506,000 in savings.
