Aegon to sell Dutch insurance business to rival ASR for nearly $5 billion

Dutch insurer ASR Nederland NV has agreed to acquire Aegon NV’s Dutch insurance operations in a cash and shares deal for around €4.9 billion ($4.93 billion), Reuters reported. The transaction, which is expected to close in the second half of 2023, is likely to strengthen ASR’s property and casualty insurance, disability insurance and pensions operations.
