The Swedish Club sees 270% jump in reefer container claims

Mutual marine insurer The Swedish Club said that it saw a 270% surge in refrigerated (reefer) container claims between 2021 and 2022, primarily driven by COVID-19-triggered transport delays and supply chain disruptions, Safety4Sea reported. The Club said that cargo damage due to reefer containers have accounted for 30% of its total container claims over the last five years.
