Strike

An ongoing workers’ strike since Sept. 24 has forced South Korea-based Hyundai Steel Co. Ltd. to shut down its cold rolling steel mills in South Korea’s South Chungcheong Province for two weeks, raising fear of supply disruptions in the country, Business Korea reported. Unions expanded the scope of their strike from the thick steel plate and special steel plants in Dangjin Works to the hot steel mills since the beginning of October.
