Floods damage 40% of Pakistan’s crops, cotton crop losses surpass $10 billion

The Pakistan Ministry of Food Security said that the recent flash floods damaged more than 5 million hectares or 40% of the country’s crops, with cotton crop losses alone reaching 2.3 trillion Pakistani rupees ($10.3 billion), ProPakistani reported. Meanwhile, the livestock sector has suffered PKR102 billion worth of losses from the floods.
