The Dutch Association of Insurers said that insurers paid more than €465 million ($453 million) to businesses and individuals for damage caused by natural disasters in 2021, NL Times reported. Most of the insured losses were related to floods and storms that affected the country, especially the Dutch province of Limburg, during spring and summer. The 2021 payout is significantly higher than the average annual insurance payout of €325 million since 2007.
