West of England P&I Club posts highest-ever premium

Luxembourg-based marine insurer West of England Protection & Indemnity Club recorded its highest ever gross premium of around $285 million in the fiscal first half ended Aug. 20, Reinsurance News reported. The marine insurer also returned an underwriting surplus for the first time in five years along with a combined ratio of 97.9%.
