Power outages plunge manufacturing activity to 14-month low

According to South African financial services company Absa Group Ltd., business activity in South Africa’s manufacturing industry declined to a 14-month low in September mainly due to disruptive power outages, MoneyWeb reported citing Bloomberg. South Africa’s power utility Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. is struggling to meet the nation’s power demands, while rolling blackouts affect factory productions.
