Cat bond issuances slow significantly in third quarter

Catastrophe bond issuances slowed significantly worldwide in the third quarter of the year, reflecting approximately $1.1 billion year-on-year decline, Artemis reported. The third-quarter catastrophe bond issuances fell $666 million short of 10-year average for the quarter. Meanwhile, the outstanding catastrophe bond market was $4.7 billion larger than it was in the year-ago comparable period.
