IIABA names Symington executive VP

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America Inc. on Thursday named its next president and CEO Charles Symington as interim executive vice president, effective Oct. 1.

Mr. Symington last week was named to succeed Bob Rusbuldt as president and CEO of the IIABA, effective Sept. 1, 2023.

Mr. Rusbuldt is due to retire on Aug. 31, 2023, after more than two decades at the helm of the Alexandria, Virginia-based organization.

Mr. Symington has served as senior vice president for external, industry and government affairs since 2016. He joined the IIABA in 2004 on its government affairs staff.
