Companies face increased risks from new ESG laws and their impacts

New environmental, social, and governance laws across the world, such as the upcoming German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, will potentially increase corporate risk exposure, especially for directors and officers’ liability, Commercial Risk reported. These new laws are prompting underwriters to increase insurance rates and limit coverage for a perceived increase in risk arising from potential non-compliance with the new rules.
