Walgreens to acquire remaining stake in specialty pharmacy Shields

Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. on Sept. 20 said it will buy the remaining stake in specialty pharmacy company Shields Health Solutions for approximately $1.37 billion, Fierce Healthcare reports. Walgreens last year spent $970 million to increase its stake in the company to 71% with the possibility of taking full ownership over the pharmacy company.
