Aon names global ESG transaction exec

Aon PLC said Wednesday it has hired Luise O’Gorman as global head of ESG transaction advisory services in its mergers and acquisitions and transaction solutions practice in London.

In the newly created role, Ms. O’Gorman will develop an environmental, social and governance-related program tailored to mergers and acquisitions and other transactions.

Ms. O’Gorman was previously an independent consultant and has advised central governments and private-sector companies in the United Kingdom and European Union, particularly in the energy and financial services industries.

“ESG considerations have become an important area of focus for companies and their stakeholders – impacting deal structures, valuations and post-deal roadmaps,” said Edwin Charnaud, chairman, M&A and transaction solutions, at Aon, in a statement.
