A Burkina Faso court has convicted two executives of Canadian mining firm Trevali Mining Corp. for involuntary manslaughter as a result of a flooding disaster at the company’s Perkoa zinc mine in April, Al Jazeera reported citing Anadolu Agency. The floods, caused by torrential rains, submerged the zinc mine, killing eight miners. The executives – a Perkoa mine manager and a manager from Trevali's contractor Byrnecut – have been given suspended sentences.
