Axa XL hires two former AIG execs to head new group captives unit

Axa XL, a unit of Axa SA, said Thursday it has recruited two former American International Group Inc. executives to head up its newly formed group captives unit in its primary casualty business.

Mark Benz, has been named head of group captives primary casualty Americas. Joseph Davina has been appointed underwriting manager, primary casualty Americas-group captives.

Based in New York, Mr. Benz and Mr. Davina will report to Chris Kopser, president and CUO, primary casualty, Americas.

Mr. Benz most recently served as head of captive solutions at AIG, and Mr. Davina as vice president, captive solutions.
