The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. announced Wednesday that Doug Elliot, longtime president of the company, will retire effective Dec. 31, and it will restructure its leadership.

Effective Nov. 1, A. Morris “Mo” Tooker, currently head of middle and large commercial, will add responsibility for global specialty and sales and distribution in an expanded role, reporting directly to The Hartford Chairman and CEO Christopher Swift, the company said.

Stephanie Bush, head of small commercial and personal lines, and Ross Fisher, global chief underwriting officer, will also report to Mr. Swift, the Hartford, Connecticut-based insurer said.

Ms. Bush will maintain her existing role and Mr. Fisher will continue to head up underwriting across the enterprise, global reinsurance, risk engineering and Internet of Things operations, The Hartford said.

Mr. Elliot was named president of The Hartford in July 2014 and oversaw the integration of The Navigators Group Inc., the global specialty insurer it acquired in 2019. He joined the company in April 2011 as president of commercial markets.
