Burned out and overworked deep in the heart of Texas

Texas

The stars at night are big and bright, but you won’t see them if you live in Texas, where research found that Lone Star state residents are “overworked” and are second for being the most “burned out.”

Career website Lensa analyzed the length of working hours, annual salaries, commute times and Google searches for “burnout” to discover which state has the most overworked and the most burned-out workers

Lensa said that since the pandemic, job burnout “has become an increasing concern for many workers across the country stemming from increased and unmanageable workloads, a lack of rewards and control, and social isolation.”

“This leaves many workers stressed out, experiencing exhaustion and lacking in productivity, as well as brain fog and mental distance from their workload.”

But some places are brighter than others, Lensa found.

In the overworked category, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee and South Carolina also took top slots. After California and Texas, those living in New York, Florida and Illinois were listed as the top among burned-out workers.
