Sampo’s profit plunges 30%

Finland-based insurer Sampo PLC’s pretax profit dropped 30% year-on-year to €499 million ($507.7 million) in the second quarter of the year, Reuters reported. The insurer saw more than a 4% increase in claims paid but this was offset by the hike in insurance rates.
