Insurance concern poses challenge to Ukraine export recovery

Exporters are concerned whether insurers will be willing to insure grain vessels leaving Ukraine’s Black Sea ports this week, while buyers are hesitant to make new orders given the risk of Russian attacks, The Guardian reports. Masha Belikova, an agriculture expert at the commodity price reporting agency Fastmarkets Ltd., said that the general priority of exporters and buyers is to move grain loaded on vessels stuck in Ukraine’s ports since the invasion.
