Lawmakers question if CMS providing enough oversight of Medicare Advantage plans

House lawmakers believe the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services needs to ratchet up its scrutiny and oversight of Medicare Advantage plans amid concerns over higher spending and coverage denials, reports Fierce Healthcare. Before the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s oversight subcommittee, representatives with Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General, Government Accountability Office and Medicare Payment Advisory Commission detailed several failings with the MA program.
