Severe weather events cause $1.4 billion insured loss es

The French Federation of Insurance said that the recent spate of thunderstorms, hail and other severe weather events have caused an estimated €1.3 billion ($1.4 billion) in insured and reinsured losses in France, Artemis reported. France was hit by severe hail, rains and thunderstorms between May 20 and 23 that caused around €323 million in insured losses, while another severe weather outbreak in early June led to nearly €1 billion in insured losses.
