Rains, floods cause over $70 million damage in China

Torrential rainfall in southern and eastern provinces of China, including Guangdong and Jiangxi, has triggered landslides and record-high floods, causing an estimated 470 million Chinese yuan ($70.2 million) in economic damage, BBC reported citing Xinhua. The floods have affected 485,000 people and destroyed 43,300 hectares of crops.
