Acrisure acquires UK broker

Acrisure LLC said Wednesday it has acquired Russell Scanlan Ltd., a commercial insurance brokerage and risk manager based in Nottingham, England.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The brokerage will continue to operate under the Russell Scanlan brand.

Russell Scanlan, which has 35 employees and was established in 1881, provides commercial insurance advice to businesses across multiple specialist sectors and to private clients.

The Russell Scanlan management team, led by managing director Bryan Banbury, sales and marketing director Mike Dickinson and director Simon Winiarski, will continue to run the business, Acrisure said in a statement.

Acrisure said it has completed or has under letter of intent 100 acquisitions this year and has operations in more than a dozen countries.

Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Acrisure is the ninth-largest brokerage of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s most recent rankings.
