Anthem to become Elevance Health

Anthem Inc. shareholders voted at their annual meeting May 18 to change the company's name to Elevance Health, Becker’s Payer Issues reports. When it announced the rebrand in March, Anthem said Blue Cross Blue Shield health plan names would not change, though it will reduce the number of brands under its umbrella. Indianapolis-based Anthem owns BCBS plans in 14 states.
