New cat bond, ILS issuances exceed $5 billion

New catastrophe bonds and related insurance-linked securities issuances have already surpassed $5.1 billion so far this year, with another $2.2 billion worth of issuances still in pipeline which could complete before the first half of the year comes to an end, Artemis reported. The newly completed issuances have taken outstanding cat bond risk capital to almost $37 billion.
