Willis Towers Watson PLC said Wednesday that Michael Chang, formerly with Sompo International Holdings Ltd., will join the brokerage later this year as head of corporate risk and broking for North America.
Mr. Chang succeeds Mike Liss, who is retiring in mid-2023.
Mr. Liss will remain with the company through his official retirement to ensure a smooth handover, Willis said in a statement.
On joining Willis, Mr. Chang will become a member of the company’s global leadership team.
Mr. Chang previously served as co-leader of global insurance at Sompo International and has been CEO of its global risk solutions business since 2016. Prior to that he held various senior roles at Chubb Ltd.
“Michael’s arrival is just another example of Willis being a magnet for talent, especially those who embrace innovation and forward-thinking,” Adam Garrard, head of commercial risk and broking, said in a statement.
Willis Towers Watson PLC on Monday said it has named former Lloyd’s of London executive Lou Smith to lead commercial lines data strategy and accelerate digital trading capability in the broker’s insurance consulting and technology business.
