ILS investor appetite expected to recover after lull: Swiss Re

Thierry Leger, group chief underwriting officer of Swiss Reinsurance Co. Ltd., is optimistic about the recovery of insurance-linked securities investor appetite after the recent lull in the market, mostly caused by the uncertainty and losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Artemis reported. Mr. Leger said that the cautious approach towards ILS investment and flat growth of alternative capital in 2021 could be attributed to the overall market environment and limited capacity due to trapped collaterals.
