Generali suspends CEO nominee

Italian insurer Assicurazioni Generali SpA suspended its head of Austria and Central and Eastern Europe business, Luciano Cirina, who was proposed for the position of Generali’s CEO by the insurer’s second largest investor Francesco Caltagirone, Reuters reported. This comes amid an ongoing row over the reappointment of Philippe Donnet as Generali’s CEO for a third term.
