Players Health, a Minneapolis-based sports technology platform, said Wednesday it has secured $28 million in additional funding.

The funding was led by Mastry Ventures, a San Francisco-based private equity firm owned by Andre Iguodala, who won three National Basketball Association championships with the Golden State Warriors, and specialty insurer SiriusPoint Ltd.

Players Health said the latest funding will enable it to invest in additional technology and people to expand its athlete safety risk management and insurance coverage for sports organizations.

The sports technology platform offers coaching and staff credentialing; education and training; abuse reporting and investigations; and insurance coverages including general liability, accident and health, professional liability and property.

Players Health works with several thousand policyholders, including sports organizations such as U.S. Youth Soccer, NFL Flag Football, i9 Sports and USA Cheer.
