Canadian professional ice hockey team Calgary Flames LP has sued a consortium of six insurers for $125 million Canadian ($100.3 million) over losses related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Calgary Sun reported. The team has sued Westport Insurance Corp., Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance Company of Canada, Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Aviva Insurance Co. of Canada, Northbridge General Insurance Corp., and Special Program Group Canada Inc., claiming that the pandemic and related restrictions caused significant losses which should be covered under the “all-risks” business interruption insurance policy they bought from the insurers.
