Acrisure acquires London-based MGA Volante

Acrisure LLC said Tuesday it has acquired international managing general agent Volante Global, a unit of Volante Capital Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Volante’s majority investor had been Nephila Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of Markel Corp., before the acquisition.

Acrisure is acquiring all of Volante’s brands and territory-based managing general agents, the statement said.

London-based Volante has a presence in seven countries and had 2021 premiums of approximately $350 million and are forecast to reach nearly $1 billion by 2025, the statement said.

Greg Williams, co-founder, CEO and president of Acrisure, who called reaching $350 million of premium in just three years “no small feat,” expects this figure to increase “substantially” over the next few years.

Volante was founded in 2017 by CEO Talbir Bains.

Acrisure is the ninth-largest brokerage of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s most recent rankings.
