Hub buys Illinois brokerage

Hub International Ltd. on Monday said it has acquired Kuhl Insurance Agency Inc. of Morton, Illinois.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Kuhl Insurance specializes in the manufacturing, health care, social services and construction industries.

Mike Kuhl, president of Kuhl Insurance, and Kuhl’s employees will join Hub Midwest West.

The deal bolsters Hub’s specialty practices, the statement said. Kuhl also helps Hub expand into Illinois, according to Lerone Sidberry, CEO of Hub Midwest West.

Chicago-based Hub is the seventh-largest broker of U.S. business, according to the latest Business Insurance rankings.
