Court upholds BI test case ruling in favor of insurers

The Federal Court of Australia has upheld a previous ruling in the second business interruption test case that said that nine of 10 BI policies did not cover COVID-19 pandemic losses, Asia Insurance Review reported. This test case was undertaken to clarify the meaning of policy wordings on disease definition, COVID-19 outbreak proximity, the impact of government mandates, and other policy wording matters.
