Football clubs lose over $8 billion in revenue due to COVID-19

A report by the Union of European Football Associations said that European football clubs lost an estimated €7 billion ($8.1 billion) in revenue over the last two seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related restrictions, International Business Times reported citing AFP News. The pandemic-related restrictions caused a massive decline in ticketing, television rights and sponsorship revenues.
